Hi, I'm Alex. I am a sheriff's deputy here in the Bay Area. Obviously physical health is super important in law enforcement and it's something that I wanted to improve. — “It took me a little bit to jump into deciding to work with a personal trainer, but I also found that once I was honest with myself that I was not achieving what I wanted to by myself, and that wasn't going to be found in a fitness class.
My name is Miranda Larson. I am 43 years old and I am a sheriff's deputy with the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office and I have played sports since I was four. I have a purple belt in jiu-jitsu and have done other martial arts and sports pretty much all of my life. I started working with Alex because I was having a hard time managing my weight on my own. I was having issues with managing nutrition, not knowing how to adjust my nutrition and what I ate, how to adjust it appropriately.
Some of my fitness goals were primarily to lose weight and to maintain my health and fitness for my job. It was really nice to work with somebody who was very knowledgeable about not only fitness but nutrition because that was the area that I had the most deficiencies in.
While I cooked what would be considered cleanly and healthily and stuff like that, understanding how to make the slight adjustments and maybe substitute ingredient A for ingredient B instead which will give me more health benefits is very helpful. My days are at least 12 hours long for the days that I work. Often times we'll end up doing 16 or 18 hour days depending on our calls for service, reports, various different things, all the different things that we have to do. I would not want to work out after a 12 or 14 hour day but being able to work with Alex holds me accountable to more than just myself and it helps me motivate myself to stick to a regular routine. He's always positive, he's always checking in, he's always being very helpful and while he holds you accountable to the standards he also understands that we're human and there are going to be days where it's just like I just needed food. It was a long day and I needed food and this is what I got.
I have actually recommended Alex to a bunch of people. I've had people ask me and make comments that they noticed that I have been working towards losing weight and building and or maintaining muscle and they've noticed the changes and they've complimented me on it and I've mentioned that Alex is my trainer and I've had people ask me about that and have definitely recommended him to quite a few people. It's absolutely worth it, it's worth every penny, at least that's my personal feeling on it. I have this vast knowledge on nutrition and exercises and how to adjust a program, how to make adjustments if my shoulder is having issues that day or my knees are more crunchy than usual or all of the different aches and pains that come along with aging.

— “So I gained a lot of weight from the COVID years and I wasn't fitting into a lot of my clothes anymore and then I went to the doctor for a checkup and I was pre-diabetic. I was like very, very close to being diabetic. I knew at that point I really needed to you know buckle down and lose some weight and I thought it's time for me to get a trainer.
My name is Andrew Regal. I'm a software engineer.
I've been working with Alex for about a year and a half now. Since working with Alex, I've gotten way better results than I would have if I didn't work with a trainer. Like it's all the little details that having a trainer gives you that you can't really learn on your own, I would say is personally why I think a personal trainer is valuable. Honestly, when I first started out my first goal was just to not be pre-diabetic but after I got through that phase, I just wanted to look better in my clothes and fit my old clothes so that I didn't fit anymore. I remember when I first started working with Alex, I really had to force myself to go to the gym and to stay on a diet plan and it was tough but as time has changed it's been a lot easier to stick to my diet. I'm actually looking forward to going to the gym and doing physical things. At this point, I think I exercise about four to five times a week.
Alex is really good at adapting my programs. There was a point where I had injured my forearm and he put me on a regimen for about a month where it was like a recovery program so that I could regain some of my strength and allow my forearm to heal.
Alex is really easy to work with. He's just a super cool guy. He's a friend as well as my trainer. I always enjoy our sessions.”
